Vintage August 1951 Galaxy Science Fiction Magazine! Ray Bradbury! Lester del Rey! Description Up for sale is a Vintage “Galaxy Science Fiction” Pulp Magazine! This is the rare August 1951 issue, Volume 2 Number 5 . This issue features Beyond Bedlam by Wyman Guin, Operation Distress by Lester del Rey, The Pilot and the Bushman by Sylvia Jacobs, Pictures Don’t Lie by Katherine MacLean, The Fire and the Sword by Frank M. Robinson, and A Little Journey by Ray Bradbury . These are all the original first printings of these science fiction stories and novelettes. It is a 160-page pulp magazine published by World Editions and measures about 7½” x 5½”. The magazine features a wonderful painted cover by pulp artist Ed Emshwiller and illustrations by David Stone, Ed Emshwiller, Martin Schneider, and Thorne inside. As shown in the photos, the magazine is in good condition for its age with some cover wear, creasing, and soiling, including a small 1” edge tear, a little writing, and rounded corner. The paper is intact along the magazine’s spine, and the magazine is complete and remains well bound. Its interior pages are clean with no writing, creases, rips, or tears, except for a few small bindery tears.
